Design and build 

Tecno Camon series is all about mixtures of colors to create certain glow effects for a final general touch. And that is just what we see here, even on the Pro. To call this blue or jade or cyan would be a lie. That aside, the back panel has camera on the top right corner and fingerprint scanner on the upper middle.

The build is generally hard plastic. On the front you will see a dew drop notch with the selfie camera therein and a rather thick bottom bezel which I join many in rendering unnecessary. There is Tecno branding as you will see on the bottom left corner of the back in vertical orientation, the same orientation as the camera.

If there be need to make mention of other features here I would say there is a 3.5mm jack, a noise cancelation mic, USB 2.0 reversible and so on and so forth. At 8.2mm thickness this is a slightly thick smartphone. The reason for which I shall tell you- it is so that its large battery can fit in. The thickness for a moment may seem to your disadvantage (though I only say it is thicker in mm) but for the greater good, it really is a non issue.

Display 

Tecno Camon 12 has an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen which has 16M colors and multi touch support. These are minor details but we must in form you of them all lest you be disappointed after making a purchase. It is a 6.52 inches that covers a 102.6 cm2 area with a ~81.6% screen-to-body ratio.

Its 720 x 1600 pixels is standard and ~269 ppi density sees it readable in outdoor conditions. That symbol ~ denotes approximation. Overall it is an okay display dear reader. There is nothing entirely uninteresting to report here.

Camera 

If you ask me, I would say the camera performance of Tecno Camon 12 comes second after its battery performance in terms of life. First the three lenses on the back are these: primary camera 16 MP, PDAF, a second 8MP wide angle lens and lastly a 2 MP, depth sensor for image separation.

At this price point it can be a real hustle finding such camera specifications on a phone. There is a quad-LED flash and panorama, HDR modes to support and supplement the main camera(s).  Video recording which I must tell you about is 1080p@30fps on both the primary and selfie camera 16 MP, f/1.8.
